We need your input! As part of our Vision Zero initiative, the Bellevue Transportation Department is evaluating the safety of walking and biking along High Injury Network (HIN) streets, where most of the city’s fatal and serious-injury collisions occur. These Road Safety Assessments (RSAs), which are being conducted along HIN streets within Bellevue, will document current roadway conditions based on the experiences and observations of those who travel the streets. The feedback will be used to improve safety and comfort for people who walk, use a wheelchair and bike on these roadways. This year, we will evaluate the streets listed below and highlighted on map of study areas through various engagement opportunities, including community walk audits.

RSA Study Area 1

156th Avenue NE between Bel-Red Road and NE 8th Street

RSA Study Area 2
Downtown along Main Street and NE 2nd Street just south of Downtown Park

Questionnaire and interactive map

The purpose of this online engagement site is to better understand your feelings about safety and comfort along these streets as a person walking, rolling or biking along them. The questionnaire will also ask you voluntary demographic questions.

We ask to you complete two tasks. The first is to complete a series of questions by selecting the Questionnaire tab below. You must click the “submit” button at the end of the questionnaire to record your responses. In the second task, we ask you to “pin” your concerns at specific locations by selecting the Interactive Map tab below. Completing both will take approximately 7 to 10 minutes.

The “Ask a Question” tab allows you to ask us about the process; answers will be posted on this site.

The use of RSAs is a key strategy in Bellevue's Vision Zero effort to eliminate traffic deaths and serious-injury collisions on city streets by 2030 and appreciate your valuable input.
